Come and join us to perform Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in the beautiful surrounds of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick on St. Cecilia’s Day, Sunday 22nd November, 2015. A “Come and Sing” event invites people to form a temporary choir for the day, learning and performing a choral piece together. Singers are requested to bring scores; choral scores can be downloaded for free at: http://www2.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Requiem_(Faur%C3%A9)#Vocal_scores
A limited number of scores will be available for borrowing on the day.
The choir will be directed by Peter Barley, organist & choir director at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and will be accompanied by Bernadette Kiely, organist & choir director at St. John’s Cathedral. Peter Barley and Bernadette Kiely are both founding members of Limerick Pipe Organ Festival.
