We ran a logo competition for the festival involving some local schools. We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Limerick Pipe Organ Festival logo competition is……….. Liam O’Brien of St. Munchin’s College, Corbally, Limerick. Liam’s prize is €50 and two tickets for the anniversary concert on 21st May (more details here). Liam’s logo is featured on the website (above) and is also featured on all promotional materials and programmes.

Internationally acclaimed organist David Briggs will give a concert in St. John’s Cathedral Limerick on Wednesday 21st May at 8pm celebrating the 150th anniversary of the inauguration of the Hill organ in St. John‘s Cathedral. David Briggs is currently Artist in Residence at St James Cathedral, Toronto. Prior to this he has held major cathedral appointments in England, including that of Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral.
Opening concert of the inaugural Limerick Pipe Organ Festival, celebrating the 150th the iconic Hill organ in St. John’s Cathedral Limerick, featuring the internationally recognised Irish organist Gerard Gillen. Concert starts at 8pm sharp in St. John’s Cathedral Limerick and admission is free.
