Many thanks to Trevor Selby for his wonderful recital in the Sacred Heart Church on March 25th. Trevor had chosen a beautiful programme that certainly showed off this fine romantic instrument to best advantage.

It was particularly good to hear three contrasting settings of the Chorale ‘Vater unser im Himmelreich’ by J. S. Bach. In these, Trevor was able to feature the bright chorus work of the Telford organ, and these preludes were stylishly performed. French music by Alain and Vierne was also a great treat in the suitably atmospheric setting and rolling acoustic of the Sacred Heart Church, and provided amongst the most inspirational moments of this most enjoyable recital.

We hope to hear Trevor play again on this instrument before too long.
